Due to the wide variation of manufacturing tolerances between the many brands of rifle components and rimfire ammunition, your extractor may not engage & hold a rimfire case properly to insure reliable functioning. Excessive gap or loose tension between the bolt, extractor & case can lead to non-extraction, erratic ejection, or the dreaded "stovepipe" jam.
The PRP® "Delta" kit contains 3 extractors of different front-back length (#1-factory, #2-.005" short & #3- .010" short) and an integrated tool to facilitate removal & installation of the extractor in your bolt. This will allow you to tune the extractor engagement specifically to your combination of bolt headspace & ammo case rim dimensions, giving you a more reliable firearm. After you tune your extractor, you can keep the tool in your kit and use it anytime you need to do a detailed disassembly for cleaning.
