SHOOT REGISTRATION FORM

Briley’s back, “Shane comes home” accompanied by his fabulous referees, as Greater Houston celebrates another great opportunity to raise the bar by one more standard sponsoring a skeet tournament that will include voice release equipment to level the playing fields as we set new standards.

“What in the heck am I talking about?” Voice release has been around, especially in Olympic games, for at least 25 years or so and for close to decade in ATA trap. The ergonomics of skeet has slowed it’s progress down because of expense factors. With recent technology advancements it is now possible and affordable, not next year or the following year but now, this season!

“Will it work”? That’s exactly what the Texas Death Squad (Kyle Shumaker, Woody Anderson, Pat Byrne, John Castillo, and Brandon Cade ), wanted to know so they promoted a very small invitation shoot (The High Tech Invitation) in Dallas inviting mostly TSSA and NSSA directors and national regional leaders to come check it out. The equipment itself is all being approved by yours truly who is extremely confident in these products. What will be sorted out in this test shoot is which of the three systems is the most user friendly as well as which system fits into most gun clubs budgets. Three voice release systems will be tested of which two are wireless. Cost will be a serious factor for promoters to consider because the wireless systems will cost 3 times as much as the non wireless voice release. All systems are extremely reliable! I expect cost will be the biggest factor in determining which system is the most popular.

The 2010 Memorial weekend program will consist of Doubles on Friday with the four gun main event starting on Saturday with the 12 gauge and finishing on Monday with the .410. By popular demand, we will have a practice field available at all times; limiting shooter entries to 180. Saturday Night is “Alaskan King Crab Night” so be sure to plan to join us as there is always to go around. If you are allergic to shellfish, let us know and I will cook a steak for you.

Okay, Folks get your deposits in today, please, and make your hotel reservations early. It is always very disappointing when you wait too long and the hotel runs out of allotted rooms with special rates; Westchase Hilton 713 974 1000.

It will be great fun! ~ Cliff Moller
